Tilza Castillo

Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)

Hi! I’m Tilza. I am a first-generation Guatemalan American who grew up in East Hollywood alongside my parents and siblings. I speak Spanish fluently and genuinely care about helping people, especially those from similar backgrounds to mine.

I earned my master’s in social work from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and completed an internship with Kaiser’s Educational Outreach Program. Those experiences gave me the skills and passion to support people in a way that feels safe and understanding.

I’ve worked with individuals and families to offer support, counseling, and guidance. I hope to help you navigate through tough times and discover your inner strength. I believe everyone has something special inside them, and I want to help you build on that as you face life’s challenges.

I’m currently working toward my full clinical license and love teaming up with other professionals to make sure my clients receive the best care. Whether you’re feeling stressed, anxious, or just need someone to talk to, I’m here to listen and support you every step of the way.

For the last 19 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and families navigating the Child Welfare system, offering support and guidance along the way.

Zen and Health

Zen and Health is committed to creating a calm, supportive, and inclusive space for healing. The practice emphasizes accessible, culturally competent mental health care that meets clients where they are—focusing on holistic well-being, emotional resilience, and empowerment. Whether addressing trauma, anxiety, or life transitions, Zen and Health centers compassion, connection, and community in its therapeutic approach.

Tilza is currently part of the compassionate team at Zen and Health.  She is a dedicated mental health professional with 19 years of experience at the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), including a decade supporting medically fragile children and nearly a decade as a Corrective Action Plan Coordinator focused on improving outcomes in foster and residential care. She’s a passionate advocate for youth mental health—especially within the foster care system, where those needs are often overlooked—and has worked collaboratively with diverse professionals to connect families with essential services. Tilza was drawn to Arielle’s Light because of its mission to break down barriers to mental health care, particularly around cost and stigma. She believes strongly that no one should face life’s challenges alone and is deeply committed to making mental health care more accessible, inclusive, and compassionate for all.
